St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington is one of four Franciscan Health Systems full-service hospitals. St. Joseph Medical Center was Franciscans first hospital and it is a 320-bed regional medical center situated on a hillside overlooking downtown Washington and the port. The Franciscan Cancer Center offers complete inpatient and outpatient oncology care. This included chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. The Franciscan Cancer Center also has a bone marrow transplant program that is affiliated with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, Washington. In addition to St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, cancer services are offered at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood and St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way.

St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way utilizes leading-edge treatments such as bone marrow and stem cell transplantation, inpatient (currently hospitalized) and outpatient (non-hospitalized) care, including non-invasive gamma knife surgery. St. Francis also offers complementary therapies and hospice, as well as stress cancer prevention and public educational forums and screenings.
