Dr. Philippe A. Chahinian is a leading oncologist and an expert in mesotheliomas. He is on staff at the Derald H. Ruttenberg Treatment Center, Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, NY. The Derald H. Dr. Chahinian is Professor of medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Chahinian specializes in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology (Sub-Specialty). In addition to mesothelioma, Dr. Chahinian’s clinical expertise includes: internal medicine, medical oncology (Sub-Specialty), lung cancer, thoracic oncology, and thymoma.
Dr. Chahinian attended the Paris School of Medicine in Paris, France, where he received his Medical Degree in 1969. He completed his Residency at Paris University Hospital in 1974, and his Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, NY in 1976. Mt. Sinai Hospital is one of the largest and oldest voluntary teaching hospitals in America. Dr. Chahinian is a member of a community of 1,800 medical professionals working together at a hospital that is acclaimed for being superior in clinical care, scientific research, and education.
Dr. Chanihian has authored or co-authored numerous papers and articles, and he had edited several books. One such paper is: "Gastrointestinal Autonomic Nerve Tumor in the Colon," written with Drs. Beverly Y. Wang, Margaret S. Brandwein, Ronald E. Gordon, James A. Strauchen, and Noam Harpaz.
He is co-editor of Mesothelioma (2002), with Dr. Bruce W.S. Robinson and he also wrote a book with Dr. Lucien Israel titled Lung Cancer, back in 1976. Dr. Chahinian has been a speaker and he has led numerous lectures around the world. He will be a Moderator at the upcoming 2008 Chemotherapy Foundation Symposium XXVI in New York City, NY.
