Creighton University Medical Center is part of the Creighton University School of Medicine. In addition to cardiac care and oncology, Creighton University Medical Center (CUMC) offers advanced levels of care in numerous medical specialties including: neurology, breast care, neonatal, physical therapy, sleep disorders, bariatric surgery, melanoma, and esophageal cancer. CUMC is also a leader in minimally invasive surgery and occupational therapy.
Cancer patients with melanoma and esophageal cancer are treated at the Creighton University Medical Center Cancer Center. The Creighton University Medical Center Cancer Center team of experts, researchers, and physicians are innovators in three major areas of cancer. These areas include: peritoneal neoplastic diseases, and breast cancer — through same-day diagnostic breast care services, as well as and skin cancer and melanoma. The CUMC Cancer Center team also treats a wide range of solid organ tumors, such as tumors of the colon, the pancreas, and the appendix.
Funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Creighton University Medical Center Cancer Center’s research faculty is currently developing new treatment plans for cancer and improving the quality of life for individuals faced with cancer. The Cancer Center’s research faculty is also funded by the American Cancer Society (ACS), the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and through the Nebraska Smoking & Tobacco Funds. In addition to working with radiation oncologists and medical oncologists at Creighton University Medical Center, the Cancer Center also works with medical oncologists and radiation oncologists from surrounding communities.
The CUMC Cancer Center Research Staff includes: Lianguo Kang, PhD; Xintain Zhang, PhD; Zhaoyi Wang, PhD, Associate Professor; Yi Zou, Graduate Student; Venkatesh Govindarajan, PhD, Assistant Professor; Lei Wang, Sr. Technican; Yan Zhang, PhD; and Xuihua Gao, PhD, as well as Brian Loggie, MD, Director; Jason Foster, MD, Assistant Professor; Ye Ye, MD, Research Resident; and Edward Siefker, Technican.
CUMC Cancer Center provides consultation and care at the Cancer Center clinic just inside St. Joseph ‘s Hospital, Suite 2803.
